Karen’s Vegan Kitchen

Cooking from scratch is healthy, fun, and self-empowering. You decide what ingredients to use. My recipes feature lots of vegetables, spices, beans, whole grains, tofu, baked goods and desserts. All so tasty you won’t miss the meat, eggs or dairy. I do try to keep it healthy. I veer off-topic from time to time for reviews and things that catch my interest.

About Me

Karen's Vegan Kitchen
Anchorage, Alaska, United States
A vegetarian since my early 20s, I've always been intrigued by the idea of a vegan diet but thought it would much too hard and restrictive. After reading about vegan cupcakes at a local cafe, I did some research and realized becoming a vegan was a definite possibility and plunged right in January 2010. This has added a whole new spin and enthusiasm to my cooking. It has been amazing discovering just some of the recipes, cookbooks, blogs and websites highlighting vegan foods and lifestyle. I have struggled a bit with the whole cheese thing but none of us is perfect and tomorrow is a new day. And a new recipe to try out! Whatever your personal journey, go forward in good health. Mangia!
